Hello, World
This is the first post. I want to see what it looks like on the web and I want to know what it feels like to put a piece of myself out there.
This morning I read Rabbi Sacks' assessment of the Beshalach parsha from last week, where he talks about how the crossing of the Red Sea represents an irrevocable step for the Israelites. Once the sea closed behind them, there was no going back. He wrote, "I believe that some of the greatest positive changes in our lives come when, having undertaken a challenge, we cross our own Red Sea and know that there is no way back. There is only a way forwards. Then G-d gives us the strength to fight our battles and win."
I want to take an irrevocable step. I want to make a decision and know that there is no going back. I will never know my own strength before taking a leap. And that's why I must jump off.
